Abstract
Various research studies have attempted to compare cognitive learning and teaching styles in terms of learning effectiveness, but results have proven to be inconclusive. However, cognitive styles of teachers are different from teaching strategies with strategies being part of the total teaching profile. To obtain a profile, this study used the Silver and Hanson Teaching Style Inventory with 157 area teachers. The profiles were then used to compute the correlations between the preferred teaching styles and three selected demographic variables. The collected data yielded some statistically significant results about the preferred teaching styles of teachers of gifted students.
