In the course of a continuing search for short-period variables among the brighter giants and subgiants in the spectral range A7 to F5, photoelectric observations were made of the F2 IV MK spectral standard, ß Cassiopeiae.These observations, made with the 16inch reflector of Pine Bluff Observatory on October 16, 1964, indicated that the star was variable in brightness.Further observations were made with the 21-inch reflector of Lowell Observatory in August 1965.The results of the 1965 observations are shown in
