Abstract

Airport delays have already resulted in governmental auctions of landing and takeoff sequences at Newark N. J. Safe-Runway technology provides the benefit, wherein B-737 and A-320 type airliners can use the split runway technology at many international and domestic airports. This inventive technology allows landing on the first 7,000 feet of long runways and after a 500 feet wide buffer and cross runway taxiway, the other further 7,000 feet is used for takeoff. This process reduces the mile and a half taxi distance and saves over 700 gallons of jet fuel, also increases runway sequences by adding up to 40 additional takeoffs and landing operations.
