Abstract
It has been shown that when an axially symmetric localized charge distribution carrying a single electric multipole moment Ql0 is rotated about its symmetry axis, it developes magnetic multipole moments Ml−1,0,Ml+1,0 of orders l−1 and l+1 only. The lower order l−1 does not contribute for l=0, 1. The resulting magnetic field is a superposition of two pure multipole fields.
