Abstract

The article is devoted to the studying of explication of metaphor in the British gas industry terminology. The object of the study is English terminology system of oil and gas industry. The subject is a model of explication of metaphor in the studied terminology system. The article poses a problem of identifying the most productive ways and models involved in the creation of metaphorical terms of oil and gas industry and considering the prospects for their further development.
