Abstract

The Comprehensive Livestock Environmental Assessment and Nutrient Management Planning (CLEANEAST) Project is a Congressionally-funded project administered through a cooperative agreement between the U.S. EPA and RTI International to provide confidential, no-cost environmental assessments (EAs) and nutrient management planning (NMP) assistance to livestock and poultry operations. Farm owners/operators located in 27 states east of the Mississippi River were eligible to participate. More than 400 farms received on-site services from CLEANEAST Technical Assistance Professionals (TAPs) who are registered as Technical Service Providers with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
