Abstract
The intrathecal administration of iopamidol, a nonionic, hydrosoluble, iodinated contrast medium, provided excellent anatomic detail in conventional and computed tomography (CT) myelographic studies. CT myelography provided more significant diagnostic information than the conventional examination in 3 of 18 patients. Adverse reactions related to iopamidol occurred in 7 of 18 patients, were always mild, never lasted longer than 12 hours, and were never referable to the central nervous system.
