Abstract
SUMMARY Seventeen samples of imported lettuce seed were tested for infection with lettuce mosaic virus. Only two samples had an infection level greater than one per cent. The results indicate that the amount of virus entering the United Kingdom in imported lettuce seed is likely to be low.
