Abstract

The authors have analysed the effect of polarisation on the bremsstrahlung cross section of low-energy electrons on neutral atoms. They have found a new effect on the intensity of the emitted light in the form of a maximum at a non-zero photon energy for electron energies close to the minima in the elastic cross section.
