Abstract

Six new species of cestodes from birds have been described. These are:Ophryocotyle indicusfrom the Rufous Babbler,Turdoides subrufus; Biuterina dicrurifrom the Grey Drongo,Dicrurus leucophaeus longicaudatus; Choanotaenia tandanifrom the Himalayan Whistling Thrush,Myiophoneus caeruleus temminckii; Choanotaenia picusifrom the Scalybellied Green Woodpecker,Picus squamatus; Panuwa stylicirrosafrom the Little Scalybellied Green Woodpecker,Picus xanthopygaeus;andAnoncotaenia indicafrom the Rufous-bellied Niltava,Muscicapa sundara.
