Problems of International Comparison of National Wealth

International comparison of such generalizing indices as national wealth, national income, and national economic accumulation yields the most significant results and the most concise idea of the countries compared. Among the comparisons of synthetic indices, the comparison of national wealth may well be the most important since national wealth represents the key factor determining the national income, the level of labor productivity, and, in the last analysis, the living standards of the people. Unfortunately, however, insufficient attention has been given to the calculation and international comparison of national wealth indices.
