Abstract
The electric field-induced second harmonic generation (SHG) in the cholesteric liquid crystal with small dielectric anisotropy has been studied. The SHG intensity is in proportion to the square of applied electric field. This dependence is interpreted in terms of the increase in the polarization density due to the flexoelectric deformation.
