ABSTRACT: This paper outlines the history and subsequent development of the National Rural Health Alliance. The mission statement and objectives of the Alliance are presented. An outline of the role and function of the Alliance both now and in the future is given. Details are given of the rural associations who are members of this national rural body and key players in rural health in Australia.
