Abstract
A new low-viscous contrast agent SH 841 A Urovison has been used for intravenous pyelography in 148 patients. A control series of 116 patients have been examined with Urografin 76%. In spite of the fact that the patients in the Urovison group have received 12 per cent less iodine than the patients in the control group the pyelograms are of the same quality in the two groups. The frequency of minor side effects was practically identical in the two series and there were no serious side effects. The effect of Urovison's lower viscosity on injection rates is demonstrated experimentally.
