Abstract
There is described the principle, construction, and operation of a simple apparatus to demonstrate the non-colinearity of the angular velocity vector and the angular momentum vector. Some details of the theory are given, as are complete details for the construction and operation of the apparatus. The apparatus is useful for individual or group demonstrations and helps students increase their understanding of angular velocity, angular momentum, and the inertial tensor.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
