Abstract
Abstract. Nine patients with Crohn's disease have been treated with azathioprine for periods ranging from 3 1/2 to 12 months. The majority of them had postoperative recurrences, and all had extensive lesions. Treatment was followed by improvement in seven patients. Healing of fistulae occurred in two of three cases. It is suggested that azathioprine may be useful in treatment of selected cases of Crohn's disease.
