Chemotherapy is a hazardous medication that requires special handling due to the serious health risk that may occur with exposure. Regulating bodies such as National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and The Joint Commission (TJC), emphasize the need for safe practice for healthcare workers administering potentially hazardous medications.
