Abstract
Abstract A long‐life cold cathode fluorescent lamp, which is suitable for the backlighting of the large size LCD for a monitor application, has been developed. By optimizing the inner diameter, the surface area of the electrode, and the amount of the mercury content, the total luminous flux increased than that of a conventional CFLs. At the same time, a lifetime of over 50000 hours was achieved.
