Abstract

13C has been identified in the atmosphere of the planet Jupiter by comparison of several J-muitiplets in new laboratory and Jovian spectra of the 3P band at 1.1 . From the equivalent width of R(2), measured on the two best spectrograms, a Jovian 12C/13C isotopic abundance ratio of 110 j 35 has been derived.
