We doubt the existence of this association because, in our opinion, Patients 1 and 2 had a disorder that could account for the origin of the Bell's palsy. These patients were hypertensive, and Patient 1 was also diabetic. Moreover, in the third patient, the facial palsy appeared 3 weeks after the acute myocardial infarction, and so it is difficult to establish a cause-and-effect relationship.The association of hypertension and facial palsy...References1.
