Abstract

Abstract Stoichiometric Al-bearing ferrites[AlxFe3-xO4 (x=0.05–0.46)] are formed by a transformation reaction from γ-FeOOH in an aqueous suspension. The transformation reaction proceeds in a suspension containing γ-FeOOH, Fe(II) and Al ions without oxidation at 25°C and a pH of 9.5–11.0.
