Abstract

It is shown that – in addition to the long-known effect of metallicity on luminosity – the abundance of heavy-elements has an influence on both the light-curve stability of anomalous Cepheids and the period ratio of double-mode Cepheids. Moreover, metallicity is an important controlling factor of the value of the pulsation amplitude of Cepheids.
