Abstract
A thermonuclear model for the plasma focus is used to analyze the neutron yield and the energy distributions of high-energy deuterons as functions of the discharge properties. Comparison with experimental data shows that the neutron yield and the energy distributions of the high-energy particles can be explained in the thermonuclear model without appealing to accelerator mechanisms in the plasma focus.
