Abstract
Wind energy resource data including the wind speeds and wind directions during one year in the campus of Northeast Agricultural University of China were measured by an ultrasonic wind measuring system suitable for cold regions. Based on the relative theories on wind energy resource assessment, the wind resource condition in the campus was analyzed and discussed. The calculated factors included the average annual wind speed and average wind direction, wind speed frequency and wind power density, etc. The feasibility analysis was also made according to the calculated results of the estimated annual wind power generation and the availability for wind turbine generation system. The way and method used in this study can be as a useful reference for the investigation and analysis of wind energy resource in cold regions.
