This paper describes the application of CAD-aided design technology combined with vb.NET development tools in the design of mechanical parts. To shafting parts design as the example, elaborated AutoCAD development technology in shaft parts of design methods and steps. Used Computer programming software for CAD secondary development to reduce the duplication of work of the designers, improve design accuracy and efficiency.
