Abstract

A 31-year-old woman who developed congestive heart failure during her first pregnancy was scheduled for a resting, gated cardiac blood pool scan two weeks after delivery. She had not breast-fed her infant. High-quality RBC tagging was obtained, together with in vivo labeling and Tc-99m MDP. In this case, intense breast uptake of the radionuclide was seen, which confirms reports of uptake of Tc-99m and its excretion in breast milk and breast tissue in mothers given bone imaging agents.
