Abstract
Distilled slurry waste of sweet potato shochu which contained high concentration oforganic matters was reduced a compound into its elements by electrolysis with laboratory andpractical scales. A system of electrolysis treatment with a pair of electrodes was indicated and theelectrical and chemical reaction between the electrodes was also shown. The performance of theelectrolysis treatment was evaluated using COD removal rate. The electrolysis treatment of organicwaste was perfectly purified within a short time. The electrolysis treatment is considered to be usefulmethod for organic waste purification.
