Combined Curettage and Cryosurgery for Treatment of Epithelial Cancers of the Skin

Of the several modalities currently employed for extirpation of basal‐cell and squamous‐cell carcinomas of the skin, namely, electrodesiccation and curettage, cryosurgery, conventional surgical excision, Mohs' surgery, and x‐irradiation, occasionally electrodesiccation and curettage followed by radiotherapy has been practiced. The combination of curettage followed by cryosurgery is novel and in the author's hands has been exceedingly satisfactory in cure rates and cosmetic results.
