Abstract
This investigation was carried out to study effect of different sources of iron on dry matter yield and iron contents in plants. The obtained results can be summarized as follows: 1. The organic sources significantly increased the dry matter yield of corn plant compared with unfertilized soil, while inorganic form gave insignificant increase.2. Application of Fe tended to counteract the depressive effect of CaCO3 on dry matter yield.3. Treating sandy and calcareous soil with iron caused increase of Fe concentration and total uptake by leaves and of stem of corn plants.4. Total Fe uptake was higher in corn plant grown in the sandy soil than in calcareous one, but Fe concentration showed mostly the opposite trend.
