Abstract

The data from the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR/2) are used for calculating atmospherically corrected temperature difference (ΔT) in the split-window channels, the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and the spectral reflectance (ρ) at channel-I wavelength. An illustration is presented which shows that when there is a significant change (larger than the inherent accuracy) in anyone of these three quantities, the other two quantities also change. This qualitative inference indicates the possibility that these three parameters may complement each other.
