Abstract

The history of the Japanese and European parents of the Dunkeld hybrid larch is surveyed fully from published records, and the descriptions of the FI hybrid summarized. Other relevant data on Larix × eurolepis are surveyed. An experiment carried out on the progeny of the Dunkeld larch to determine its characteristics and variability is described, both in the nursery and up to the third year in the forest.
