Abstract
The past decade has witnessed dynamic changes in the international competitive environment facing U.S. Multinationals. In addition to increasingly strong competition from traditional competitors from other developed countries, firms from the Third World countries are beginning to play an important role in world markets. This study investigates the response of 84 of the largest U.S. multinational corporations to meeting the challenges posed by this changing international environment.
