Abstract
Accurate neutron analyzing powers have been obtained using a new pulsed polarized neutron facility. Data are presented for elastic scattering of 14-MeV neutrons from $^{40}\mathrm{Ca}$, $^{54}\mathrm{Fe}$, $^{65}\mathrm{Cu}$, $^{120}\mathrm{Sn}$, and $^{208}\mathrm{Pb}$ between 18\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} and 36\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}. Our data exhibit no evidence for the anomalously large values which were reported previously at 20\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}.NUCLEAR REACTIONS $^{40}\mathrm{Ca}$, $^{54}\mathrm{Fe}$, $^{65}\mathrm{Cu}$, $^{120}\mathrm{Sn}$, $^{208}\mathrm{Pb}$($\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{\mathrm{n}}$,$n$), $E=14.0$ MeV; measured ${A}_{y}(\ensuremath{\theta})$, $\ensuremath{\theta}=18\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}\ensuremath{-}36\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}$; compared to previous results.
