Abstract

ABSTRACT HOT air collectors coupled with solid desiccant energy storage were evaluated for surface drying fresh produce. Drying potential of either the dehumidified or heated air was expressed as a humidity ratio difference. Typical advantages for desiccant energy storage include: high energy density, extended storage capability, low cost and simplicity of holding containers and a comparable drying potential to heated air systems
