Abstract
Purpose The purpose of this article is to show the importance of being known as a problem solver. Design/methodology/approach The article lists questions for determining the extent to which one may consider themselves a tenacious problem solver and then discusses each as a valid indicator and how to position oneself as a problem solver relative to that question. Findings If you assume that every problem has a perfect solution and work towards finding that solution you will be actively engaged in continuous improvement. Originality/value The article is a valuable tool for reviewing whether you and/or your staff are working toward continuously improvement or just maintaining the status quo.
