This symposium reviews our current knowledge of resistance exercise. Resistance exercise is defined as high intensity training with repetitions as used for strength and power development. The symposium examines each major involved system: muscle, nerve, cardiovascular, endocrine, bioenergetics, bone, and connective tissue.
