Abstract

The article contains the first, detailed and illustrated description of the larvae and pupae of Thryogenes fiorii and Th. nereis. It presents the distinguishing features of developmental stages (e.g. setal index) of both species. The diagnostic characters of larva and pupa of the genus Thryogenes are also given. The larva and the pupa of the genus Thryogenes present some morphological characters uncommon by the other, described immature stages of Curculionidae. Some information about ecology and biology of the mentioned weevils is also provided. (© 2009 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
