Abstract

The N,N′-bis(ferrocenylmethylene)ethylenediamine Schiff base was synthesized by condensing ferrocenylaldehyde with ethylenediamine. The complexes of the Schiff base with Zn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Fe(III) ions were synthesized. The compositions and properties of the ligand and its complexes were established by elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMR, UV-Vis. spectra and molar conductances.
