Abstract
Abstract This paper describes a simple and rapid high performance liquid chromatographic method using two different polarity columns in series for the quantitative analysis of the major tropane alkaloids atropine and scopolamine. The problems associated with the simultaneous determination of the two alkaloids in plant extracts have been overcome. The method has been successfully applied to the analysis of three species of Solanaceous plants.
