Abstract
Mining operations in Hurricane Basin, in the Silverton Quadrangle of Colorado, have disclosed the presence of a body of ice beneath rock-stream and landslide débris. The ice is believed to represent the remnant of a glacier, and the relations appear to confirm the suggestion of Cross and Howe that the rock débris buried small glaciers remaining in the cirques after the ice disappeared from the main valleys.
