Abstract
This paper analyses the operation and impact of lamps with light emitting diodes (LED) in the electric power network. Measurements of different LED lamps are carried out during their start-up and normal operation and results are analyzed. Based on measurements a simulation model of electric power network is built. A simulation analysis of the operation of LED lamps in combination with various types of other loads in the electric power network is performed. A comparative analysis of active and reactive power and voltage harmonics (in accordance with the EN 50160) is performed for cases of replacement of incandescent light bulbs with a combination of LED lamps and compact fluorescent lamps (CFL).
