Abstract
The influence of temperature on the parameters of the kinetic model utilized by Lawrence and McCarty was studied in an aerated batch reactor using activated sludge and a complex waste at two levels of initial concentration. It is shown that maximum specific rate of substrate utilization, saturation constant and microbial decay coefficient increased with an increase in temperature and also gave linear Arrhenius plots over a limited range.
