Abstract
A Lower Cambrian trilobite fauna from the uppermost part of the Gärdsjön Formation in northern Jämtland, central Scandinavian Caledonides, is described. The fauna consists of Calodiscus lobatus (Hall, 1847) and Ellipsocephalus? granulosus n.sp. Associated faunal elements include brachiopods, a lapworthellid, and indeterminate calcareous tubes. The correlation is discussed and it is tentatively concluded that the fauna was recovered from a level which correlates with strata bearing representatives of the Dipharus attleborensis assemblage.
