Abstract

The title compound, when heated both neat and in solution, forms O-(methylthiomethyl)benzophenone oxime, benzophenone, its oxime, dimethylthiomethane, dimethyl disulphide, and OO′-methylenebis(benzophenone oxime). Mechanisms for these reactions are discussed.
