Abstract

Certain methionine auxotrophs of Arthrobacter paraffineus and Bacillus species produce large amounts of O-acetylhomoserine (OAH).The methionine requirement of these auxo trophs could be satisfied by either cystathionine or homocysteine but not by homoserine.
