Reconstruction of the pylorus for postvagotomy diarrhoea and dumping

Abstract

Abstract Five patients with incapacitating diarrhoea or severe dumping after vagotomy with pyloroplasty were treated by reconstruction of the pylorus. The operation was easily performed, and the postoperative course was unenventful in all the cases. All the patients had a significant improvement. The results suggest that pyloric reconstruction can be of benefit in patients who need revision operation for postvagotomy diarrhoea or dumping.
