Abstract

Longidorus elongatus (de Man), Xiphinema americanum Cobb, X. hallei Luc, X. brevicaudatum Schuurmans Stekhoven and Dorylaimellus tenuidens Thorne are recorded from South Africa. Three new species are described. Xiphinema vanderlindei n. sp. is distinguished by the flattened lip region, short spear and elongate conoid tail. Dorylaimellus projectus n. sp. has amalgamated disc-shaped inner liplets. Amphidelus monohystera n. sp. lacks an anterior uterine branch.
