Abstract

The many connections between gifted intellect and creativity and Klaus Riegel's Dialectical Psychology are discussed at length. Dialectical Psychology is given a precise formulation in terms of the set‐theoretic operation of symmetric difference, “one or the other but not both,” and the set‐theoretic complement thereof. It is shown how this structure is involved in developmental psychology, memory and learning, gifted intellect, gifted affect, and creativity.
