Abstract

Abstract The composition of the essential oils of two populations of Thymus funkii Cosson and of some individual plants of each population was investigated by GC and GC‐MS. The two population samples showed a similar composition, the main constituents being 1,8‐cineole, camphor, borneol, camphene, β‐pinene and α‐pinene. In order to study the infraspecific variability, the results obtained were submitted to cluster analysis and principal component analysis. The results did not show a significant variability within the individuals of this species.
