Abstract

An unusual combination of lunar halos was photographed over Tucson, Arizona on 14 November 1975. Three halos, the 22° refraction halo, the circumscribed halo, and a reflection halo (the paraselenic circle) were present. The origin of these halos is discussed. The form and orientations of the ice crystals responsible for the observed halo features are deduced.
